01: The Thief and The Cobbler

Come take a seat at the weird kids lunch table with Britany, Lilithe, and Ambyr as we discuss the 1993 movie The Thief and the Cobbler. This movie was originally started as a concept in the 1960’s, but sadly the film was never completed for a myriad of reasons. Thankfully, later on the bits of animation that were created were pieced together in a way to form what was released in the early 90s. This movie had everything it needed to be a huge success: great animation, interesting character designs, solid voice acting….and yet somehow it still fell into obscurity while also gaining a fanbase so devoted Garrett Gilchrist made a “recobbled” version of the movie to try to finish it. Come take a deep dive with us as we talk about the story, characters, animation, and what seemed to have gone wrong for this movie.
